My name is Malorie Lacitis and I’m a real-estate agent with Coldwell Banker Bain on Capitol Hill. Let me tell you a little about myself.
I am very proud of my knowledge of Seattle and its surrounding areas, and my ability to match home buyers with neighborhoods they might not know about.
I remember one couple – Lynn and Andreas – who even though they had friends advising them on neighborhoods, had never heard of Georgetown. It’s an up-and-coming unique part-industrial neighborhood sprinkled with artists’ workspaces, commercial buildings, pubs, even a motorcycle repair shop.
We drove around once and they said “This is it! This is our neighborhood!” They wanted a duplex for a major remodel project, and on the first day, one came on the market. They saw it and immediately decided to buy. We had a signed purchase and sale contract the next day.
Seattle Magazine’s Best in Client Satisfaction Award
I think that’s why that in the two years that Seattle Magazine has chosen its Five Star “Best in Client Satisfaction” real-estate agents, I have received that award. It’s an honor given to less than 7 percent of licensed agents in Greater Seattle. What’s important about this award is that it was based on responses from people who had recently bought homes.
I am very proud of my enthusiasm for the search. I see it as a giant treasure hunt. . . or a puzzle that needs to be solved. One of my buyers, after finding a stunning town home in Eastlake, said “That’s why you’re different to work with! You listen to us!”
Sometimes you need to come up with a totally different approach.
One San Francisco couple was having difficulty buying a lovely home here. With the red-hot market, each time something wonderful came up, the home was sold before they were able to fly here.
What was needed was finding a home that was not quite on the market yet.
I drove around the Green Lake area looking for construction sites, and on the third inquiry, found a home that was scheduled to be sold in four weeks. That was it!
My real-world experience
Something I bring to my profession is a varied real-world experience:
I have a master’s degree in fine arts. And during the winter, when the market is slower, I have time to work on my paintings. . . landscapes in watercolor and oil pastel.
This art background serves me well; it helps me figure out other solutions to problems that come along the way, and it certainly helps me in listing homes.
When I work with sellers I again see the situation as a puzzle: how do we best show off this home? For a basic home it might be adding color to one wall, or adding artwork or planters filled with bright flowers.
For a stunning home it might be as simple as taking excellent photos and writing descriptive text.
After graduation from the University of Washington, I worked as a color specialist for the architectural firm of Skidmore Owings and Merrill in Chicago. I enjoy using those skills in preparing a home for marketing.
Over the years, my husband and I have bought several properties and remodeled them. This experience has been a huge asset. I can look at homes and make suggestions as to possible changes, having a good idea of what is really involved.
I am quite familiar with dealing with the sales staffs at the Home Depots, with floor installers, painting contractors, plumbers, electricians.
I know schools
I am also familiar with the multitude of school questions that families have.
Our two children attended both public and private schools in the Seattle area. I know the importance of schools in choosing a neighborhood in which to purchase a home.
I am interested in children, and art, and gardening, travel, and working with non-profit organizations.
I value the relationships with my clients. And I love my job!
Thanks so much for taking the time to come to my Web site.
I have plenty of original content in it and I hope you enjoy it!
