From the world-renowned Seattle Film Festival, to the acclaimed Northwest Flower & Gardening Show to farmers’ fairs big and small, to the Seattle International Film Festival, the Puget Sound region has it all.
Want some ideas of what to do this week?
The best site I’ve found for local events is run by the city’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs. You can filter your search to select any or all of 11 types of events (festivals, theatre, music, etc.), and 11 different Seattle neighborhoods, plus the Eastside, plus the outlying areas.
You can select, for example, readings and lectures in the University District, or check all neighborhoods covered.

Another good source for listings of all sorts, from restaurants to what bands are playing, is NWsource. It also features pull-down menus for a myriad of categories. Just click on http://www.nwsource.com/.
A source for statewide events, road trips and statewide “must-sees” is the official site for Washington State Tourism. It features detailed pull-down menus well worth time to click on http://www.experiencewashington.com/Cal_Main.html.
Sometimes, it all seems like TOO MUCH information.
I’ve been a long-time Seattle resident and have traveled throughout the state.
